The New Challenge
It is time to start thinking about municipal elections again. On November 19th 2011 the people of British Columbia will go to the polls to elect their municipal officials. I face a new challenge this year. Re-election to the same position, Mayor of the Township of Esquimalt. I t has been a challenge serving the community in this capacity for the past 3 years but more important it has been a pleasure and I would love the opportunity to do it again.
We have accomplished many things but there is more to be done on the policing file, the CRD transportation and sewage issues, the Village Core Project, economic growth, among a few. What else do you see for Esquimalt?
As we move toward the fall and our local election I hope that many of you will comment and provide your thoughts as to where you want to see Esquimalt go in the next 3 years and in the next 30 years. Planning horizons must have longterm components to ensure they are sustainable for the community.
